Tel Aviv-based director and cinematographer. He holds a BFA from the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television at Tel Aviv University. He has directed several award-winning short films, including "Horah" (2018), "Pool" (2019), and "Uzzi" (2018), which was shortlisted for the BAFTA Student Awards. His short documentary "Requiem for a Whale" (2022) won the prestigious IDA Award for Best Student Documentary and was nominated for Best Documentary Short at the 2023 Israeli Academy Awards. The film also received the top prize at the Israeli Documentary Forum Awards and won both Second Prize and the Cinematography Award at the 2022 Docaviv Film Festival. In May 2025, Weisman directed the television series "You Have to Read This". His debut feature-length documentary, "Sun Bay" (2025), won the First Feature Award at both the Israeli Documentary Forum Awards and the 2025 Docaviv Film Festival, and received an Honorable Mention at the South Film Festival. In May 2026, Ido was selected by Docaviv Film Festival for its list of 20 promising filmmakers under 40, shaping the future of documentary filmmaking in Israel.
