Born in Marseille, he began his career as an assistant director on films like Les Amants du pont Saint-Jean (1947). Bromberger made his directorial debut with L'Inconnu d'un soir (1949). He directed films such as Seul dans Paris (1951), Les Fruits sauvages (1954), which won the Golden Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival, and La Bonne Tisane (1958). His works often explored social issues and human relationships, characterized by their realistic portrayal of contemporary life.
