Joanna Natasegara
Joanna Natasegara is an English film producer and director, and the Academy Award-winning founder of Violet Films, a London-based production company known for finding the political in the personal. She won the Oscar for Best Documentary Short for The White Helmets (2016) and received a further Academy Award nomination, for Best Documentary Feature, for Virunga (2014), both directed by Orlando von Einsiedel; her other producing credits include the Oscar-nominated The Edge of Democracy, the Netflix docuseries Heart of Invictus, and Disney's Oscar-nominated short Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó. Her work has earned two Peabody Awards and over 100 award nominations in total. She made her directorial debut with The Disciple, which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
