Mikhail Faynshteyn

Mikhail Faynshteyn

Soviet and Russian rock musician, best known as a member of the rock group "Aquarium". In 1973 he met Boris Grebenshchikov and was invited to the Aquarium. Until 1983, he was a bassist and percussionist in the group, then Alexander Titov replaced him on the bass guitar and began to play only on percussion. Mikhail played in Aquarium until 1991. According to Boris Grebenshchikov's opinion: “He was the basis of 'Aquarium' in the 1970s and 1980s, his love for music, life scope and sense of humor determined much of what happened in those years. Thanks to him for all the time we spent together. " In 1984 he played bass for a short time in Mike's band "Zoopark", after which he returned to "Aquarium", where he became a percussionist and the actual financial director of the group. I collected beer cans from everyone I knew, which at that time were a curiosity in the USSR, filled them with sand, buttons, and other objects and turned them all into musical instruments that had a sound characteristic only of the “Aquarium”. He was a member of the council of the Leningrad rock club and published the newspapers Roxy and Aroks and Shter. In parallel with the "Aquarium" took part in the recording of albums of the group "Pochta" as a session percussionist. Since 1991 he played in the Trefoil group.
